UID Authentication is a Web-based Software as a Service that enables brand owners, distributors, consumers and others to protect brands by authenticating product UID,s via the Web, a Call Center, Web Services (with no human intervention), or cell networks using human and machine-readable using any manner of devise capable of accessing the Internet. Multiple user-defined Web User Interfaces (UI,s) drive how authentication is conducted and the user and the system interact, as well as the type of data displayed to the user.

Verify Brand utilizes numerous standard user interfaces or we can customize a Web UI depending on customer requirements. For example, if the brand owner is seeking to enable consumer level product authentication, then Verify Brand would use a standard or develop a custom user interface to display information, graphics and messaging appropriate to the consumer audience as well as management of unauthorized events, e.g. a submitted UID is not in the central data repository, in the wrong location or other business rules underlying software operation. VB Enterprise UID Authentication functionality is normally also either configured with the brand owners Web look and feel or integrated into an existing brand owner Web site.

Based on customer-required user interfaces, configuration of functions and business rules, UID Authentication:

• Supports product authentication, management of unauthorized events, interrogation of other product or packaging information and communication with others.
• Cell phones and PDAs can be used to verify UID authenticity using: keypad input, text messaging/SMS, an e-mailed photograph, a scan of the bar UID or RFID, or manual UID input directly into their VB Enterprise 2.0 Authentication Website.
• Human readable UID's can also be submitted to a dedicated Call Center which then uses the VB Enterprise 2.0 Authentication to check UID authenticity.
• Supports real time detection of unauthorized supply chain events.
• Provides the ability to manage unauthorized events in real time, e.g. preferred responses to the authentication site, alerts to the brand owner, including, but not limited to the IP address at which the UID verification was attempted; geographically mapped location of the event, or data from the site; and the date and time the event was identified.
• UID's can be read or scanned and checked individually or en masse using any available technology compatible with the manner in which the UID is carried on the product, e.g. bar UID or RFID and the quantity of UID's requiring authentication, e.g. one to millions.
• Can provide a method by which to verify both the physical existence and authenticity of physical tamper evident or authentication technologies, e.g. seals, holograms, secure inks, etc.
